IOWA CITY — Eastern Iowans have cleaner air to breathe – thanks to the burning of biomass at an area power plant, according to a new study from the University of Iowa.
Comment: A reduction of 90% in air particulates is both a surprising and very positive benefit of using renewable biomass. The introduction of Miscanthus into the mix should maintain these benefits, but, just as importantly, help to put a stop to fossil fuel use.
